She began her legal career in politics, then shifted to philanthropy. Angélique sat down and talked with the hosts of the Superheroes are Tougher podcast, Stephen Shamus and Alex Rae, and spoke about her journey as a self-described fandom nerd.

Whether you’ve heard her on the Marvel Voices podcast, or one of the other many podcasts and panels she’s been a part of, either as a moderator or panelist, there’s no mistaking her talent. You’ll be amazed by her obvious love of talent and culture and her in-depth knowledge of the industry.

When asked who her real-life superheroes are, she answers without hesitation that she has three… Her Mom, Her Maternal Grandfather, and… Prince. She shares her reasons for choosing all three and some exciting things you may not know about Prince.

The discussion led to talk of superheroes and anti-heroes. They all agree that everyone loves a good anti-hero. Angélique explains that the whole face of superheroes is changing… not just race, gender, or geography. She feels that superhero characters have opened up to be genuine and authentic, based on culture.
